To reduce management overhead and improve productivity, you can schedule common events to run automatically.
The following event types can be scheduled:
IDS Synchronization
CSV File Import/Export
Night Service
Backup
Database Audits
File Transfer
User Logout (for Hot Desk Users)
This feature includes a calendar, which you can update with the holidays for your locality. Then, when you add an event, you can specify an exact repetition interval (daily, weekly, etc.) and indicate whether the event should run on holidays or only on weekdays.
NOTES
A monthly event which is scheduled to occur on the 31st of the month will not take place if the month does not include 31 days.
The start date for a new event is set by default to the system current date and time. This value should be changed for each new event.
Take care when scheduling events to occur close to the current system time. A delay committing the event could make the vent out of date before it can be processed. A recurring event will not take place until the next scheduled instance and a non-recurring event will never take place.
Create smaller repeat intervals by defining identical scheduled events to start at different times. For example, to repeat an event at 12-hour intervals, define two identical daily events with start times separated by 12 hours.
Scheduled backups in Server Manager may fail when overlapped with certain scheduled system events in the MiVoice Business System Administration Tool, for example, the Embedded Voicemail audit (Scheduler form) at 3 AM and the DBMS Check (maintenance command) at 5 AM. Ensure that scheduled backups in Server Manager do not overlap with scheduled system events in the MiVoice Business System Administration Tool Scheduler form.
Prior to scheduling any events, you should update the calendar so that it contains the correct holidays for your locality. You can do this manually, by programming holidays directly on the calendar, or automatically, by importing a .csv file containing all of the holidays for the current year.
Manual Update
To manually update the calendar:
Open the Scheduler.
Use the screen tools (arrows and mini-calendar) to locate the day you wish to update.
To change a weekday into a holiday, right-click the day and select one of the following options:
Designate this day as a holiday: Programs the selected day as a holiday.
Designate this week as a block holiday: Programs the entire week, including the selected day, as a holiday.
Designate this day of the week as a holiday: Programs this day of the week (e.g. Monday) as a holiday for the selected month.
To change a holiday (including Saturday or Sunday) into a weekday, right-click the day and select one of the following options:
Designate this day as NOT a holiday: Programs the selected day as a weekday.
Designate all days in this week as NOT a holiday: Programs the entire week, including the selected day, as weekdays.
Designate this day of the week as NOT a holiday: Programs this day of the week (e.g. Monday) as a weekday for the selected month.
CSV File Update
To update the holidays presented on the calendar by importing a .csv file:
Open the Scheduler.
Obtain the Import Spreadsheet, and then access it.
Create the Scheduler worksheet, and then open it.
Record Data for your holidays on the Scheduler worksheet:
Set the vid1.119.
Set the 10.1.0.1.
On the Import Spreadsheet, click Save for Import to save the worksheet.
On the Scheduler form, click Import, and then Preview and Import the Spreadsheet.
NOTE: You can also update the calendar by clicking Export and saving the current form data as a .csv file. After updating this file with new data, you can import it again.
To schedule IDS synchronization events, refer to the following procedures:
Adding an event involves picking an activity, specifying a start date and time, and indicating whether the event should occur repeatedly or only once.
